Common problems with the EU Certificate appointment
What usually goes wrong, and how to fix it.
No appointments available
Slots are released at irregular times and run out quickly, especially in Madrid and Barcelona. Check often or try other offices in the same province.
The official website errors or freezes
Usually due to high demand. Wait a few minutes, clear your cache or try another browser. Never pay sites claiming to “sell” official appointments.
I want to cancel or change my appointment
You can cancel it on the same appointment website with your code. It cannot be changed: cancel and book a new one.
I am missing a document on the day
Most likely it will not be processed. Check the list in advance; if unsure about your case, ask us first.
My certificate was refused
You will receive a reasoned decision. You can usually apply again with the missing documents, or appeal within the deadline.
I lost my certificate
You can request a duplicate. Your NIE number does not change.
